1920s Art Deco Sunburst MantelThis late 1920s Art Deco fireplace mantel features a recessed frieze with alternating light and medium oak fan sections forming a sunburst design made from highly figured English Oak The top of the frieze is stepped to follow the fan pattern. The fireplace opening is framed with diamond cut beading, above which is an ample (6 inch deep) shelf with an ogee moulded front. The mantel has plain block feet and block tops to the legs. 1920s Art Deco Mantel in WalnutThis mantel was designed at the height of the Art Deco movement taking the stepped pyramids of Central America as its inspiration. Made from finely grained walnut throughout the frieze has a double step down from the top of the legs and a double step back to a slender central shelf highlighted by a horizontal carved strip underneath. The backing of the shelf is raised, also by a double step, with a double stepped, moulded, top edge. The plain legs rise from wrap round block feet to support a gently bowed top shelf edged with greek key moulding. A recessed mantel frieze mirrors the curve of the top and provides for a narrow central shelf with a double ribbed edge. 1930s Bowed Frieze Mahogany Mantel with Ebony StringingA most impressive Art Deco Fire Surround in flame mahogany with rectangular ebonised stringing details. The caddy style top is gently bowed across most of the width. At either end is a concave curve that continues all the way down the legs where chamfered foot blocks follow the profile. Each curved panel has ebonised stringing features filled with fiddleback mahogany as a contrast to the broader expanses of flame pattern. 1920s Oak Art Deco MantelA 1920's oak mantel with a raised central frieze and octagonal boss made from beautifully figured oak. This mantel exhibits it's Art Deco inspiration through its varied geometric details. The rib around the set back fire opening is doubled around the corners giving a subtle double underline to either side of the frieze. The top of the frieze is double stepped - initially with a chamfer and then a central vertical step. Either side of the raised central portion is a descending set of 5 ribs and there is a central raised octagonal boss. Condition: EXCELLENTOverall Width 54 inches ( 137.16 cm )

An unusual walnut mantel with three lobed shelf and burr walnut frieze. The striking feature of this Art Deco mantel is the profile of the top shelf with three demi-lune overhangs supported by symmetrical bolection mouldings mounted on the beautifully figured and book-matched burr walnut frieze. The legs have a subtle step back to both sides and at the top of the piece where they form raised corner blocks in an echo of the stepped forward block feet.
